What does grubhub mean?
- GrubHub is an online food ordering company. Founded in 2004 by Mike Evans and Matt Maloney, the company won the University of Chicago’s New Venture Challenge in 2006. One year later, GrubHub received its first round of venture capital, allowing the Chicago-based company to expand its service to Boston and San Francisco. In September 2011, the company announced that it had raised an additional 50 million dollars in capital and was acquiring New York based Dotmenu, the parent company of Campusfood and Allmenus. The acquisition allowed GrubHub to establish a presence on more than 300 college campuses. GrubHub currently has menus for over 250,000 restaurants and allows users to order online from nearly 20,000 restaurants in the more than 500 American cities.
