University of Airlangga
The University of Airlangga is a University in Indonesia which is located in Surabaya, East Java. This entrepreneurial University was established in 1948 as a distant branch of University of Indonesia. It started in with a Medical School and School of Dentistry. At present day, Universitas Airlangga hosts 13 faculties with more than 24,143 students (in academic year 2009–2010) and nearly 1,571 faculty members. In addition to that, Universitas Airlangga also has a university hospital and an Institute of Tropical Disease Airlangga University equipped with biosafety level 3 facilities. The present Rector is Prof. Dr. Fasichul Lisan, Apt. (2006-).
