Value-added processing of agri-food (dairy, fruits and vegetables) and biopharmaceuticals sector, including: • supercritical processing (extraction, extrusion, fractionation & substrate modification); • milkfat fractionation; protein texturization; • thermal treatments of particulate foods (blanching, pasteurization & sterilization of particulate foods); • concentration technologies (thermal, vapour recompression & membrane processes); • dehydration (by air, superheated vapour, vacuum & freeze-drying); • microwave and other electro-technologies; and • molecular imprinting for separation and purification of bioactive and nutritionally significant compounds from agri-food materials; and 2. Enery sector, including solar, thermoelectric, and recovered-heat based thermal devices and systems for power generation, refrigeration and air conditioning.
