I think the Internet a most important resource and unparalleled for being the medium that affords the most immediate source of ready knowledge. I also think that one great good thing about the Net (that's an abbreviation :-)) is that 'the knowledge' is freely afforded to anyone who can pay the cost of a connection and possessed with spades of curiosity. My experience is not limited to 2 personal websites, 1 corporate Intranet and I think ... 3 blogs - all at varying stages of editing and re-editing. I am also a keen student of programming (C, Javascript, Basic, HTML and Python - so far) and computer science generally. Most people only use the World Wide Web (the rich media content part of the Internet), but the Net is really more than this part of it - it really is, when all is considered a layer or raft of services which can and may be used in a million myriad contexts and services. Applications also keep getting created for it daily. Consider this old little service: qotd, residing behind port 17 on permitting computers/servers. It affords me on-demand, real time, daily quotes of wisdom - try it yourself.
