- D. A. Clarke-Smith (2 August 1888 – 12 March 1959) was a British actor. He was born on 2 August 1888 at Montrose, Scotland. He was educated at the University of Oxford, studying law and voice culture, and while there joined the Oxford University Dramatic Society. His stage career was interrupted by the First World War. After the Armistice, he joined the Birmingham Repertory Company and later came to the London stage. He and Alice G Bowes married in London in 1920. They had two children: Jeanne and John. He and Catherine Rosemary Ellis married in Chelsea in 1945. They had three children: Lucinda, Humphrey and Charlotte. Clarke–Smith died on 12 March 1959, in Withyham in Sussex, England.
