The East Side (E/S) Holmes Street Watts Crips (HSWC, ES HSWC118) are a long standing African American street gang founded in the 1980's in the eastern region of the unincorporated community of Willowbrook and Watts in Los Angeles, California. The name of this gang derives from a residential street in the heart of their neighborhood called Holmes Avenue. Their territory is located south of the Glen Anderson Freeway from 117th Street in the north to 118th Street in the south between Willmington Avenue and Compton Avenue; just west of the Kenneth Hahn Plaza Shopping Center. There are 2 sub-sets of this gang: the 117 Holmes Street Watts Crips and the 118 Holmes Street Watts Crips. Collectively, they are known on the streets as the "187 Watts Crips". Members are known to sport orange and blue apparel to signify membership to this gang, along with the Houston Astros baseball caps as the letter “H” represent "Holmes". Their closes allies are the Carver Park Compton Crips. Other allies include the Front Street Watts Crips, Grape Street Watts Crips and the Rollin 30's Harlem Crips. Their fiercest rivalry is with the Mona Park Compton Crips.
