- Yazbek or Yazbeck (sometimes Yasbek, Yasbeck) (in Arabic يزبك) is a common family name and surname of Lebanese origin derived from the Ottoman Turkish title بك “Beik”. Traditionally applied to the leaders or rulers of various sized areas across the Ottoman Empire, the title was usually given to rich and powerful people who were honored in the Ottoman Empire.
