Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children
MIS-C (a.k.a. PMIS q.v.) is a rare syndrom in children who experience an immune response that affects blood vessels and arteries, leading to inflammation that can cause heart damage. The condition gained prominence mid-2020 as it emerged in kids around the world who had had exposure to the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which causes COVID-19.
