QOR (quarterly opportunity review) is the result of dry aged and well cultivated management zeal. QOR is a meeting in which fantasies about customer opportunities are indulged. A QOR altogether eleminates the need to face a customer. Although several meetings are required to prepare for a QOR (planning, reviewing, coordinating a QOR - meeting templates can easily be found on the internet), no customer needs to get heard, harmed or faced for any of it. A QOR is an excellent way to catch up with your social media backlog (or preview Netflix releases), whilest QOR host is sweating through a long list of irrelevant questions which we kindly asked them to prepare. The QOR belongs in the same category as QBR (quarterly business review) and QPR (quarterly pipeline review), as do all meetings of the QxR format. QxR's seems to be wildly popular with working SOD's (Sales Operations Departments) within US headquartered Tech & consulting multinationals, but are currently spreading into organisations of all sizes and nationalities. A strong case could be made for installing the new role of the CQO (Chief Quarter Officer) to efficiently liaison senior management to quarterly operations. Recent proposal by A-SOAP (Association for Sales Operations Accredited Professionals) to better govern QxR's by introducing the QQR (quarterly quarterly review), needed to be postponed for lack of preparation and planning time. A word of caution: "Q" (for quarterly) in QxR may be misleading, as meetings may need to be organised on a more regular basis when calendars run empty.
