  A demand was made IT Department regarding AY 2012-13, although the amount was already deposited through State Bank of India as self assessment tax and is also duly reflected in the 26 AS form for the said year. However, it has now been informed by the Income Tax Department Circle 1 (4)(1), Rishikesh that the amount is not reflected in OLTAS and hence the demand can not be reduced and the grievance is fully resolved. It is surprising that the 26 AS form generated by the IT Deptartment itself is not being accepted by the same Department who also has generated OLTAS. Is this the way to harass honest tax payers through several digital routes which the government is advocating. more »
