  I have a pewter beaker that was given, as some sort of trophy, to our lovely Great Aunt Evelyn Ward ('Auntie B'). The beaker is inscribed

  but can anyone enlighten me as to what the NOC on the beaker stands for and what the dates refer to please?
  I've searched on abbreviations.com but am none the wiser! Could it be a Latin abbreviation?
  Miss E Ward ("Auntie B') worked in the Orthopaedic Clinic in Wokingham, Berkshire for many years for which she gained an MBE, and I think may have actually set the clinic up with her father Dr Ernest Ward, who was the equivalent of a modern day GP in Wokingham at the turn of the last century. They/she lived in Bedwyn Lodge / Milton House on Milton Road - not far from the open air swimming baths (still there?) and her father's chauffer Ralph (doctors had chauffeurs for house calls in those days!) lived in a bungalow at the end of the Bedwyn Lodge garden. The 1937 could be when the clinic was set up, and possibly the 1974 was when she finally retired (I think she died in the 1980s) but I had thought she had worked there for 50 years and 1937 to 1974 is only 37 years, so I'm not even sure what the dates are about. Can anyone in the family help?

    Nurse On Call or Nurse Orthopedic Clinic or Nursing Operations Captain (Head Nurse title back in the day). Sorry that I don`t know what your last sentence means, about the postcard.
